Because you don’t want to disappoint others.
Because you don’t want to be considered selfish or egoistic.
Because you want to help others.
The thing is: by saying yes to others, you are actually saying no to yourself.
You deprive yourself of your own oxygen mask.
And what kind of effect do you think a drained version of you has on others….?
I know as no other how challenging it can be: because you want to be there for others; you want to do good, you want to help.
A book that’s still on my reading list is: “Will it make the boat go faster?” It’s about winning the gold Olympic medal by making choices….and the only question that needs to be answered when making a choice is this one.
This analogy helps me making my own choices.
It reminds me to stay focused on my mission to make a real impact. I’ve learned the hard way that investing time in things that slow down my own boat doesn’t serve my goals; especially since time is my most valuable & scarce asset.
So now, I say no to everything that doesn’t make my boat go faster.
As we approach the halfway mark of 2023, it’s time to evaluate where you’re still slowing down your boat. Where do you say ‘yes’ when you really mean ‘no’? What do you need to let go of to achieve your goals?
Join me on July 4th at 20:00 CET for my free “Make the rest of 2023 amazing Masterclass💖,” where we’ll dive into your goals for the rest of this year.
We’ll also focus on what you should leave behind in the first part of the year to create space for growth and achievement.
